Report to: I&C Engineer
Main tasks:
-Works to inspection and test checklist
-Checks levels/coordinates of equipment against plans and diagrams
-Follows approved procedures to isolate devices and remove from service for field and bench calibrations
-Calibrates and tests instruments to design specifications, documenting results to verify accuracy
-Prepares inspection/test report and submits to supervisor
-Performs safe loop-check procedures, visually inspects loop components to ensure correct installation, verifies loop performance and adjusts loop parameters where possible
-Observes safe working procedures, practices and work permit/tagging requirements
-Consults relevant dwgs, diagrams, documents, device performance history
-Uses methodical fault finding techniques
-Follows approved safety practices
-Defines discrepancy between observed and desired system conditions
-Identifies elements suspected of causing the discrepancy; defines normal operating parameters for suspected elements
-Evaluates selected elements based on failure probability analysis, exercises each element across full range and span to verify proper operation
-Takes corrective action based on findings; reports to engineer
-Dismantles device or component; performs maintenance or repair locally or in workshop, reports status to supervisor
-Reassembles device with replacement parts; recalibrates device
-Observes safe working procedures, practice and work permit requirements
-Consults relevant dwgs, diagrams and documents
-Positions devices to correct elevation and coordinates
-Secures devices using methods shown on engineering dwgs
-Connects to power supply, using approved wiring or circuit diagrams
-Tests equipment for correct operation
