Premium Engineering, a member of the Red Mountain Energy (St. Louis, USA) has signed a contract with the Irkutsk Oil Company to build a processing plant for associated petroleum gas (APG) in the Yarakta oil and gas field in eastern Siberia.
The gas processing plant will also produce products which have industrial application such as dry stripped gas, LPG, gas condensate as well as ethane fraction. This is the first plant of its kind in Russia to use the latest Russian and western APG processing technologies and modular designs developed by American specialists from Red Mountain Energy.
In this instance Premium Engineering is the EPC contractor, the sole contractor who will carry out all stages of the project. The company is building the plant on a turnkey basis and will see the project through from start-up to commissioning which is expected at the end of July 2014. Work on the project has started.
The associated gas processing plant is being built in the Yarakta field where there is a large deposit of oil and gas condensate from which considerable amounts of hydrocarbons have been extracted in the past. In the first half of 2012 the Irkutsk Oil Company produced 968.5 million tons of oil and gas condensate, more than doubling the output for 2011.
