Abstract

Rhenium oxide finely dispersed on mesoporous alumina with uniform pore size of 3 nm in diameter and large specific surface area of 560 m2 /g was found to be a more active and selective catalyst for liquid-phase metathesis reactions of not only terminal but also inner olefins than rhenium oxide on normal c-alumina with random pore structure. 7 wt% Re2O7 on mesoporous alumina transforms 1-octene and 7-hexadecene into their equilibrium composition of metathesis products at low temperatures more smoothly and selectively than 7 wt% Re2O7 on normal c-alumina. The catalysis of Re2O7 loaded on mesoporous alumina was

discussed.

Synthesis, characterization and catalytic applications of mesoporous gamma-alumina from boehmite sol

Abstract

In this study, boehmite sols were used as aluminum precursors for preparing mesoporous alumina (MA) having crystalline framework walls in the presence of nonionic surfactants as structure directing agents. Nitrogen physisorption showed that aluminas prepared in this way displayed very rich porosities with large mesopores, and both the pore volumes and the pore sizes increased with the surfactant concentration. The improved textural parameters in the samples should be attributed to the three-dimensional interconnected scaffold-like channels, which were formed by randomly ordered stacking and condensing of rigid boehmite nanoparticles with the aid

of the surfactant. TEM observations revealed that the precursor morphology had an important effect on the textural properties of the mesoporous alumina. The sample with a corrugated platelet-like morphology exhibited a large surface area of 463 m2/g, which was reduced to 81 m2/g after calcination at 1200

oC, indicating a strong resistance to sintering. This material, with its improved textural properties, crystalline framework walls and high thermal stability, not only could increase the dispersion of the active catalytic species, but also could enhance the diffusion efficiency and mass transfer of

reactant molecules when employed as catalyst supports. As examples, our MA samples demonstrated a remarkable enhancement in the catalytic performances for both reactions of SO2 catalytic reduction by CO and catalytic combustion of methane.

Alkane metathesis by a tungsten carbyne complex grafted on gamma alumina Is there a direct chemical role of the support

Abstract

The activity in alkane metathesis of tungsten complexes grafted on gamma alumina raises many questions regarding the structure of the active

site and the reaction pathways. We examine the case of a perhydrocarbyl tungsten complex on alumina from periodic density functional theory

calculations. The quantum chemistry exploration of energy pathways suggests two possible mechanisms for alkane metathesis. The first mecha-

nism occurs on the grafted complex only but is significantly activated. The second mechanism shows that hydration defects on the alumina surface

can be active in alkane dehydrogenation toward alkenes, whereas the tungsten complex efficiently catalyzes the subsequent olefin metathesis step.

The calculations thus underscore the role of the alumina support in the mechanism.

Al-TUD-1, stable mesoporous aluminas with high surface areas

Abstract

Very stable, amorphous mesoporous aluminas of the TUD-1 structure type with high surface areas (∼530m2/g) can be synthesised in a controlled manner using non-surfactant organic molecules. Their porosity as well as pore size can be adjusted either by heating a dried gel in an autoclave or by changing gel ageing procedures. High surface areas can be reached by controlling two important parameters: the water to aluminium ratio in the initial synthesis mixture, and the drying and heating process in the autoclave.

Alumina-promoted mesoporous sulfated zirconia A catalyst for n-butane isomerization

Abstract


Mesoporous sulfated zirconia (MP-ZrO2) were synthesized hydrothermally using Zr(O-nPr)4 as zirconium precursor, ammonium sulfate as sulfur source and CTABr as template. Then the as-synthesized mesoporous materials were directly impregnated with aluminum sulfate to give the acidic Al-promoted mesoporous sulfated zirconia. (AS/MP-ZrO2). The AS/MP-ZrO2 catalyst was characterized by nitrogen physisorption (BET) for texture properties, by X-ray diffraction (XRD) for confirming the phase and by TEM for particle sizes. The catalytic conversion of n-butane isomerization was measured in a flow reactor. With the addition of a proper amount of aluminum as a promoter, the catalytic behavior for n-butane isomerization at low temperature in flow system was strongly promoted. The increase of activity was determined primarily by the amount of alumina addition and by the temperature of calcination. The highest catalytic performance is for the catalyst prepared at an optimum 3 mol.% Al loading and calcination at 650 8C. The nature of the acidic sites was determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements of N 1 s of the adsorbed pyridine. Three kinds of acid sites were identified on the catalyst: a Lewis site, a weak Brønsted site and a strong Brønsted site. The catalytic activities are correlated with the amount of weak Brønsted acid sites. The remarkable activity and stability of the Al-promoted catalysts are due to a balanced distribution of acid sites strength with an enhanced

amount of weak Brønsted acid sites.

An investigation of the surface acidity of mesoporous Al-containing MCM-41 and of the external surface of ferrierite through pivalonitrile adsorption

Abstract

The surface’s acidity of amorphous and mesoporous MCM-41-type silica and silica–aluminas has been investigated by using IR spectroscopy of the surface OHs and of adsorbed pivalonitrile, and catalytic isomerization of 1-butene. IR experiments allowed also characterizing the external sites of ferrierite. In contradiction to part of the recent literature, the conclusion is that the Brønsted acidic OHs associated to Al insertion into the silica framework are terminal on the surfaces of both amorphous and mesoporous samples and also on the external surface of ferrierite. These sites participate to the generation of the O–H stretching band near 3745 cmÿ1. These surfaces also carry Lewis acid sites arising from Al cations in a tetrahedral-like unsaturated coordination sphere. It is concluded that bridging Si–OH–Al ions, giving rise to strong Brønsted acidity of protonic zeolites, are only forced to be formed into their internal cavities, but cannot occur on ‘‘flat’’ or sufficiently ‘‘open’ surfaces.

Biocompatibility of nanoporous alumina membranes for immunoisolation

Abstract


Cellular immunoisolation using semi-permeable barriers has been investigated over the past several decades as a promising treatment approach for diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Type 1 diabetes. Typically, polymeric membranes are used for immunoisolation applications; however, recent advances in technology have led to the development of more robust membranes that are able to more completely meet the requirements for a successful immunoisolation device, including well controlled pore size, chemical and mechanical stability, nonbiodegradability, and biocompatibility with both the graft tissue as well as the host. It has been shown previously that nanoporous alumina biocapsules can act effectively as immunoisolation devices, and support the viability and functionality of encapsulated b cells. The aim of this investigation was to assess the biocompatibility of the material with host tissue. The cytotoxicity of the capsule, as well as its ability to activate complement and inflammation was studied. Further, the effects of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) modification on the tissue response to implanted capsules were studied. Our results have shown that the device is nontoxic and does not induce significant complement activation. Further, in vivo work has demonstrated that implantation of these capsules into the peritoneal cavity of rats induces a transient inflammatory response, and that PEG is useful in minimizing the host response to the material.

Quý à, vấn đề vi phạm bản quyền đang rất báo động nên nói chung mình hạn chế. Lỡ sau này vì anh em mà admin đi tù cũng nên , đó là nguyên nhân mà thư viện sách mình khóa lại rất kỹ.

hì! bài báo thì không lo chuyện bản quyền đâu, vì cái này người ta cần công bố mà. Nhưng sách thì có vấn đề bản quyền đó, ở mình chuyện này rất bình thường, nhưng những nước phát triển, luật bản quyền ghê lắm. Thực ra phải tả tiền nhuận bút và xuất bản chứ, hì hì, mà ở nước ngoài cái này cao lắm, ko như ở VN mình.

Nói vậy thôi, các bạn yên tâm, còn lâu chúng ta mới như nước ngoài được. Nếu muốn shared sách cho nhau cũng rất dễ, chỉ cần gửi yêu cầu và cho địa chỉ mail, bạn nào có thì post và gửi link. Hì.

Còn tủ sách của forum nên hạn chế Public.
